Pondokan is a small village where the sulfur miners stay. It is also the place to stay overnight and do a day trip to either Mount Arjuna or Mount Welirang. Mount Welirang. Since i am coming down from Mount Arjuna, i stayed overnight at Pondokan and walk down to Tretes. Tretes is a small town. Ranupane basically means Lake Pane by the locals there. Stayed a night there before setting my journey to Kalimati for hiking up to the peak of Mount Semeru. It was a long journey and the trail is the most beautiful trail of my Surabaya trip. In the middle of the trail i passed an another lake by the name of Ranukumbolo. It was a breath taking view there.
