Pondokan is a small village where the sulfur miners stay. It is also the place to stay overnight and do a day trip to either Mount Arjuna or Mount Welirang. Mount Welirang. Since i am coming down from Mount Arjuna, i stayed overnight at Pondokan and walk down to Tretes. Tretes is a small town. Ranupane basically means Lake Pane by the locals there. Stayed a night there before setting my journey to Kalimati for hiking up to the peak of Mount Semeru. It was a long journey and the trail is the most beautiful trail of my Surabaya trip. In the middle of the trail i passed an another lake by the name of Ranukumbolo. It was a breath taking view there. After a night at Mongkutoromo I start trekking during the morning all the way to the peak of Mount Arjuna. The whole journey takes about 8 hours of slow hike. Since i am hiking with backpack load, it's as slow as i can get. The trail has a less denser forest with thick grassland at the tree foots. It was filled with so many flowers till i have to stop so many times to enjoy the view and take "some" pictures. As i ascending near to the top, temperature were getting low. As far as i can remember it was less than 10 degree Celsius at the top with strong winds. In a Nutshell Unlock the boot loader. Replace the existing recovery ROM with ClockworkMod/TWRP Recovery ROM image. Replace the existing root/super user binaries with a modified binaries so that you can access it. Important note: Once you unlock the boot loader, all your existing data will be deleted/ erased. One of the biggest contributors of battery life drain is the big OLED screen on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. For some people like me, I still feels that even at auto-brightness setting of the OLED screen is still bright. I felt that if i can still get a little lower brightness and still gets the auto-adjust of the brightness according to the environment lighting, it would be awesome. Screen Filter app provides me with an extra dimming factor on top of the overall auto-brightness setting. I can adjust how much extra dimming to apply on my existing brightness of my screen and still have the auto-brightness to adjust brightness according to my environment lighting. After using this app, the extra battery life that i am getting prior to my usage is significant (subject to how much dimming you are applying). This is the first day of hiking up to Mount Arjuna. The trail started at Tambawaktu village and ends at Mongkutoromo. Mongkutoromo is an ancient Indonesia Hindu ritual site that is still being used by the locals to perform their offerings to Hindu gods. It was a surprise for me as i had assume that all Indonesians have convert to Muslims for the past few centuries. Along the trail you will get to see the left overs of some ancient Hindu ritual sites that are already in rubble. There is also a "Warung" coffe shop where you can stop and enjoy some nice local coffee. This trail takes about 5 hours of slow hike to reach Mongkutoromo and spend a night there. Whenever you double click on an unknown extensioned file where the extension is not currently registered to any program installed in your Windows OS, Windows will ask if you like to use the Web Service to find the right program to open your file or if you like directly choose the right program (that is already installed in the Windows OS) to open your file. I find this extra dialog box to be unnecessary to me and usually i would know which program to use to open up the "unknown" extensioned file. You can actually bypass this dialog box by a simple edit to your Windows registry. Steps: Open your regedit.exe program. Navigate to this folder: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer Create a new DWORD  entry with value of 1 . Once you have created the DWORD entry with the proper value, you should get this dialog box directly asking which program to use to open an unknown extensioned file:

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is such a good sucker of it's battery life. Since day one of owning the smartphone, my regular battery life does not even get near to 24 hours. I had my brightness set to auto, mobile data switch on, auto sync switched on and WIFI switched on. But that are the catches, you get a full connectivity and a great display on the smartphone but the battery pack that comes with the smartphone cannot last through the day. There are extended battery packs sold in eBay but they make the Samsung Galaxy Nexus just plain ugly with a bulgy back bottom. That's the price to pay for extra hours to the smartphone.
